When and how did you start training to fight? I’ve been training since January 2007 with Gold Medal Grappling and before that I lifted weights to keep in shape. I got involved to have new challenges and to be able to punch someone in the face again.
Why do you fight for Gold Medal Grappling? To punch someone in the face…..and because it’s the best trained, driven and successful team in Virginia.
What prior experience did you have? Before coming to train with Eli, I had wrestled for 5 years from 8th grade thru 12th and boxed while I was in the Army for around 7 months. Other that, just kickin’ ass like my Dad taught me when I was a kid around the neighborhood.
Accomplishments before you started? I won all of my Army Boxing matches called “Smokers” and had a pretty strong wrestling career, making it to States during my Senior year. I have taken 1st in many wrestling tournaments through my career.
Biggest accomplishment so far? My biggest accomplishment so far….being a good father to my son and finding the perfect wife.
What do you like the most about fighting? It’s the gameness that I like the best; the ability to push myself to the limits and find what else I have left for my body to give for the fight. Taking it to the limit. Punching some one in the face is always good too.
Do you have any heroes? My heroes start with my family always helping and pushing me to succeed; the soldiers who fight for our freedom everyday; and my trainer and teammates who drive me to be the best everyday I walk into the fight.
Hopes for the Future? My hopes are to develop into a well rounded fighter and push my body until I can no longer continue…..The rest God will take care of.
Personal Quote? "Never listen to your body tell you its tired, your body will always give up before your mind will. Make your mind push the body to victory with every step"…..Gen. George S. Patton
